It wasn't long ago that I was following the guidance of the other bloggers here at Blog Azeroth when I was writing A Rogue's Eye View, and since then I've moved on to a notably bigger gig. But that doesn't mean I've forgotten the folks that helped me focus my vision!

I'm here to let you guys know that we here at the World of Warcraft Official Magazine are always looking for good freelancers. Whether you've got a story idea, a DPS/Healing/Tanking column you'd like to share with the world or you just want to kick around some thoughts, feel free to send them on over.

Now, I warn you, we are a quarterly publication and it does take a while for story ideas to go through the ringer. While I see tons of great ideas, I'm not the only one in charge -- I'm really just the beginning of the process so nothing is guaranteed and stories can get scrapped at any time. But I do keep everyone on a comprehensive list of potential freelancers, so I can keep you on file should the opportunity arise for us to put you in the magazine!

What is your byline policy? The article attribution seems very inconsistent with some articles listing an author, and others not.

I'm fairly new here, and I can't say for certain, but it seems to have changed.

The first issue seems to be completely without bylines, but everyone does show up in the contributor list of the masthead. However, in issue two all but one of the stories has a byline. I'll let you know once I've got a concerete answer, but favor seems to have shifted in favor of having bylines.

Update on the byline policy. Just spoke with the EiC and we're both very behind bylines. Apparently the first issue had some question about it, but unless it's a story that one of us has to completely rewrite for one reason or another, the person that writes it will be listed with their real name.

Random question - will you accept submissions from anyone or is this restricted to US citizens only? I only ask because I've seen a lot of similar schemes where they're unable to pay anyone living overseas.

We've had pitches from people overseas, as well as stories that have been published in the magazine.
