*shakes cane from on the porch* I remember way back when I was a young blogger, and I finally mustered up the courage to look at Blog Azeroth and introduce myself. Now, I don't know about you guys, but the thoughts which were running through my head were something like this:
"Why am I doing this?"
"I am SO scared people are going to think I suck!"
"These people are all far too important to have time to look at blogs like mine"

I know that this might not be what goes through the head of everyone as they register here. Some people are very confident and enjoy meeting other people. But, there are timid little souls out there like me who find this whole process VERY SCARY. So, in order to not scare off our new bloggers (because we all love them so very much!), please keep in mind the following.

- Most of the people who introduce themselves here are coming with fresh, perhaps only days old blogs. We often aren't seeing an evolved, polished product.
- I like to think of the Author Introductions as the welcome mat to BA. This is where we all meet and say who we are and what we are doing. It's a friendly kind of place. Please be friendly!
- The Chopping Block forums are available for registered users who are seeking criticism. This is not the place to immediately point out the flaws in blogs. I (and I am sure the blog authors!) love it when you comment on people's introductions, and criticism can be useful... but it's very daunting when you first start out and get a whole heap of negative feedback thrown at you. Please keep all feedback constructive and use a positive tone.

Thankyou to all the people who introduce themselves here, and all the bloggers who provide great feedback, comments and support!

EDIT: From this point forward, comments which the moderators find to be potentially offensive in tone will be immediately deleted. Continual offenders may find themselves banned from the site.

My apologies -- I'm a bad offender when it comes to that! I have a tendency to click the link and go "I'd read this if..."

Feedback is never a bad thing. I am sure that we all appreciate feedback, and it is very useful. However, I just want everyone to try and keep it tactful and remember that talking on a forum is just like talking to a person: If you wouldn't word your feedback that way face to face, don't word it that way here! ;-)
