Just wondered what everyone thinks. Do you owe people who advertise on your entrecard a post (to drive more traffic, etc.) on your blog the day their advertisement runs?

Or better yet, do you feel slighted when you advertise on a blog and they don't put up a new post the day your ad shows up?

Just thought I'd toss this one out there.

I am kind of split on this one. I would not mind if I put up an advertisement and there wasn't a new post (I just joined the service so I am rather inexperienced on this), but I guess I will try to put up posts on those days.

I try to post every week-day anyway. Week-ends are harder because I am either at home playing and not surfing or I am not at home at all.

I don't think it makes sense to post about your entrecard advertisers, and worse... I think that would be boring to the readers. It's an advert system, just like GoogleAds. It's supposed to generate traffic by just being there.

Sure, if you see something awesome that you want to share with your readers on BlogX and BlogX happens to be on your entrecard for that day, then why not mention it? But go out of your way to advertise an advertisement...? It sounds like a good way to cheese off your readers. I know too many 'commercials' in a blog cheeses me off right quicklike.

So I say an emphatic no. Give link love in your blog because someone wrote something that's just too awesome not to share, not just cuz they paid a few free creds to put a picture up on your site.

I voted no. By the very nature of Entrecard, you'll have a new banner displayed every day. Most authors can't keep up with such an intense rate of posting, and forcing yourself to do so could possibly burn you out!

Phae pretty much nailed it for me.

One thing I will do is make sure those folks who've advertised with me, show up in my blogroll.

(They may not at the present time, but every one is slated to be added: A crush of work before heading on vacation is interfering with what I REALLY want to do this week!)
