Hi guys-

I was doing some work on my site a while ago, and have been noticing it's been loading a bit slow. It also loads slower on the backend, and I am not sure why. I don't know if it's just my internet being sluggish or if it's actually my website. I have kept my plugins to a minimum and double checked everything, but nothing is really standing out that could point out the problem behind this.

I also don't know how I can test optimization speeds on different bandwidths for my site, and I know it's important that it doesn't take forever to load my site for my viewers. So this is a concern for me, if it's slow for me, it's certainly slow(er) for some visitors and I have to fix that. It's on and off, some times, it loads just fine for me, sometimes it takes a few seconds for it to load fully on both the back and front end. If it's my graphics, I can certainly cut back on that, but other than that, I'm in the dark here.

Just for your information, I use godaddy for my self hosting and this isn't a wordpress.com account.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as to how I can speed things up again because this is starting to drive me crazy!

Thanks for asking, sometimes restarting your pc and reloading your page helps, or clearing some cache and cookies in your files. sometimes it does that when your editing your theme too much that every page loads up it files up and slows down your browsing over time. so take it a rest as by restarting, and also clearing some history from your any browser your using. If you use Google Webmaster Tools you can check the performance of your site (Labs > Site Performance). There's also a plug-in for Firefox called Page Speed that is intended to make suggestions for speeding up page loads.

@Amerence, I clear my cache very frequently so I can see my updates clearly so I don't think this is the issue. It doesn't load slow for you guys at all?

The only thing I can think of is it's my hosting company. I'll be contacting them and see what they have to say.

I just took my site down to make some changes. I think it's because I have too many plugins and my site is rather heavy on the graphical side Hopefully the changes I make will help!

It's generally a good idea to deactivate and/or delete any plugins you are not using (and of course keep them updated!).

I've used Wordpress for years and it seems anytime it appears bogged down it's because I failed at updating a plugin or was running several I was no longer even using. Graphical-side wise shouldn't cause your site to load that slowly, depending on what format you save them anyways.
